ALL YOU NEED IS *SNOW*: WELCOME TO HASS 418, SUMMMER ONE!

Department / Organization: HASS

COMPLETE YOUR C+S REQUIREMENT IN SUMMER ONE! EXPLORE THE MEDITERRANEAN, MIDDLE EAST, TURKEY, AND THE CAUCASUS MOUNTAINS

NOW is a great time to complete your upper-level CULTURE + SOCIETY requirement. Nobel Laureate Orhan Pamuk's *Snow* will be the sole reading requirement for "Narrating the Nation" (HASS 418)--Summer one. Join the course for discussions of this novel and interdisciplinary explorations of the heritages, arts, and contemporary conflicts of countries spanning the Mediterranean, Middle East and Caucasus mountains. Students interested in film, psychology, religion, archaeology, geography, anthropology, architecture, science fiction and other forms of creative writing will love this course. So will students interested in political science and conflict resolution. Course assignments and attendance requirements are flexible, and responsive to student interests and course and work responsibilities in May-June.
