Volunteer to lead STEM Activities for a kids summer camp
Department / Organization: Research Office A great opportunity for research groups to build teamwork, gain experience and help bring science to kids!
Rocky Mountain Camps is looking for volunteers to develop and facilitate a 50-minute, interactive STEM session designed to spark curiosity and hands-on learning for children with dyslexia, as part of the Rocky Mountain Camps: https://rockymountaincamp.org Each volunteer will deliver the same activity to two different groups of kids, (about 8–10 campers). Activities should be STEM-focused, age-appropriate, and ideally connected to your research. Individual volunteers are fine, but 2–4 volunteers per session is ideal. Please identify one point of contact for each group when signing up. Planning and training resources for delivering content to these unique campers is available. Rocky Mountain Camps staff will be on-site to provide support during the camp activities. Sessions run from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Please include time for setup and cleanup in your planning (i.e. 8AM-1PM full time commitment). This is a fully voluntary opportunity. Volunteers are responsible for providing their own materials and managing their time. Go to this website for more information: https://www.signupgenius.com/index.cfm?go=w.manageSignUp#/62898877
