ECS Mines Chapter: Future electric grid conversation TODAY!
Department / Organization: Electrochemical Society, Mines Chapter Join us as we hear from two Mines students on Mon, 4th May from 1700 to 1900 in Labriola 202 (free pizza and soda!)
For the longest time, various (electrochemical) energy technologies have been designed, assuming that the grid supplies as much electricity as we need at some fixed price. However, for various reasons, e.g., changes in the generation mix, increasing demand, integration of energy storage, etc., the grid of tomorrow will behave very differently from our classical assumptions. We are launching a new series of themed conversations around the interaction of tomorrow's energy technologies and tomorrow's electric grid. Our 1st episode will feature two short talks by Mines PhD students, Alexander Derenchuk and Remi Akinwonmi, plus discussions & refreshments. Join us at any time from 5 PM to 7 PM on Monday, May 4th for good discussion, pizza, and soda pop!
