All students must take action to enroll or waive the Student Health Insurance Plan!

The open enrollment/waiver period is now open for 26/27 Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) Annual coverage! Eligible students will receive an email from SHIP with detailed instructions for the online process. You must enroll or waive by 9/2/26 (Add/Drop Date). The cost of SHIP coverage from 8/1/26 - 7/31/27 is $3178. The coverage is through United HealthCare’s Student Resources Plan.

Mines requires all on-campus degree-seeking students to have comprehensive medical health insurance as a condition of enrollment. You must either show proof that your health insurance meets waiver requirements or enroll in the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP).

If you already have comparable insurance coverage, you must have an approved SHIP waiver or you will be automatically added to SHIP after the Add/Drop Date (9/2/26). If waiving, you will need to upload a copy of the front and back of your insurance card. All students are charged for the SHIP, but those students with approved waivers will also see the waiver credit on their student account.
