September Lunch Bunch: Bringing Mines' Expertise to Guam

Department / Organization: Mines Foundation

Learn how this new satellite campus will expand engineering education and advance additive manufacturing across the Pacific.

This year, Mines will open a satellite campus at the University of Guam, the first-ever satellite campus of a mainland U.S. university on the island. Through this groundbreaking partnership, Mines will offer a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a focus in additive manufacturing, enabling students in Guam and across the Pacific to earn a four-year engineering degree without leaving the island.

Join us as we visit with Tom Coakley, PhD and founding director of the Mines-Guam project, to learn how this innovative collaboration is advancing cutting-edge metal 3D printing technologies, strengthening national defense and critical infrastructure, expanding workforce opportunities and preparing the next generation of engineers while positioning Guam as a strategic manufacturing hub in the Pacific.
