Department / Organization: Metallurgical and Materials Engineering Learn about foundry activities available to students in Hill Hall 300 noon-12:50pm on September 9th
Join us in the Metallurgical and Materials Engineering department in Hill Hall 300 at noon to learn about all the student activities available in the foundry at Mines! The Cast in Steel competition put on by the Steel Founders Society of America challenges students to make a 16th century flanged mace in steel and test it in a national competition. Teams of 2-5 students design their mace from start to finish in our foundry. Other student opportunities include the Foundry Education Foundation which offers students internships and scholarships and the American Foundry Society student chapter where students can participate in fun foundry activities like jewelry casting. Stop by and learn about these activities and so much more on Wednesday September 9th at noon in Hill Hall 300! FREE PIZZA while supplies last!
