A Mines alum, Ms. White's professional trajectory included roles in manufacturing, environmental consulting, & state government service. Director White will present an overview of her post-graduate career path, focusing on her leadership of the Hazardous Materials & Waste Management Division at the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment. In this capacity, she oversees the state's Hazardous Waste, Radiation Control, Remediation, & Solid Waste & Materials Management Programs. Her division oversees clean ups at 23 Superfund sites, 28 active & closed federal facilities, & multiple voluntary cleanup sites across Colorado. Additionally, her portfolio includes the environmental remediation & management of 160 active & closed solid waste disposal facilities, over 900 radioactive materials licenses, & over 200 hazardous waste remediation projects statewide. Director White will also highlight current statewide initiatives, such as Colorado’s innovative per- & polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS)-containing aqueous film-forming foam (AFFF) destruction project & implementation of the state’s newly established extended producer responsibility (EPR) program for paper & packaging.
