NASA Astronaut John Grunsfeld to deliver lecture and ASF scholarships to Mines students
Dear Mines students, faculty, and staff: We would like to invite all to the lecture by NASA Astronaut John Grunsfeld this coming Wednesday, November 8th at 6:00 PM in Petroleum Hall in the Green Center. Astronaut Grunsfeld flew 5 Space Shuttle missions, docked with the Russian MIR space station, conducted 8 space walks (EVAs), and operated on the Hubble Space Telescope during 3 missions to repair it and upgrade it. He later became NASA Chief Scientist and NASA's Associate Administrator for the Science Mission Directorate. He is a great speaker and communicator, so this promises to be an exciting, fun evening with a true space explorer!
Grunsfeld will also award the 2023 Astronaut Scholarship Foundation (ASF) scholarships to Mines students Cailyn Smith (Computer Science) and Max Shepherd (Chemical Engineering).
Looking forward to seeing you at this "out-of-this-world" event!
